Bob Taggart, Sr., age 67, of Yankton, died peacefully at home under hospice care on Thursday, November 5, 2009. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, November 9, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Yankton, with Rev. David Wildermuth officiating. Private burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date. Visitation will be 4-8 PM, Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Dave Cwach, Pat Kotalik, Dennis Johnson, Wes Encinger, Justin Rosenbaum and Greg Ackerman. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great grandchild.

Bob was born on December 17, 1941 to Walter and Inez (Thompson) Taggart in White River, SD. He attended Yankton Public Schools and married Ronda Menning on September 23, 1972 in Yankton.

Bob worked many jobs in his life. He mined in western South Dakota and worked for H&K Oil Company, Champlin Service Center and various trucking companies. He enjoyed his career as a truck driver as he always told many stories of the states he drove through. When his truck driving days came to an end, he became a yard foreman at Fullertons Lumber Yard in Yankton. Bob retired from there due to poor health.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and he was immensely proud of his family including his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Bob's memory will be cherished by his wife, Ronda (Menning) Taggart of Yankton; son, Bob (Cheryl) Taggart, Jr. of Yankton; daughters: Donna (Dennis) Johnson of Grand Island, NE, Traci (David) Cwach of Yankton, Kristina (Pat) Kotalik of Utica, SD, Kelle Taggart of Yankton, Alisha Taggart and special friend Justin Rosenbaum of Yankton; grandchildren: Amy (Wes) Encinger, Dennis Johnson, Jr., Rachael, Sharolate and Tully Taggart, Ryan, Shannon and Brandon Cwach, Garrett, Stephanie, Alex and Hannah Kotalik, Andrew and Brady Taggart; great-grandson, Brogan Encinger; brother, Darrell (Carol) Taggart of Lead, SD; sisters: Ella (Gale) Brewer of Yankton, Mabel (Terry) Hughes of Las Vegas, NV, Rose Townsend, Betty (Wayne) Berquist of Yankton and mother-in-law, Hazel Menning of Yankton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Glen, Lowell, Ed and Floyd; two sisters: Irene and Patty and granddaughter, Heather Cwach.
