Violet A. Sebesta, age 94, of Colorado Springs, CO and formerly of Yankton, SD, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Pikes Peak Care Center, Colorado Springs, CO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton, with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Yankton, SD. Visitations will begin at 5:00 PM, Friday, at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, with a rosary at 7:00 PM followed by a Scripture service at 7:30 PM. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.

Violet was born on July 12, 1917 to Henry and Agnes (Dominiack) DuVall in Pukwana, SD. She was raised in Chamberlin and attended Chamberlin High School.

She married Alton Sebesta on July 3, 1937. To that union, three sons, Robert, Donald and Roger, and a daughter, Janice were born.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Elks, Senior Citizens Center and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was a volunteer at Sacred Heart Church

Survivors include her daughter, Janice (David) Herbel of Elizabeth, CO; sons, Dr. Robert (Alison) Sebesta of Colorado Springs, CO, Dr. Donald Sebesta of Othello, WA, and Roger (Phyllis) Sebesta of Odessa, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Katie Rose, Ida DuVall, Opal Duvall, Goldie Spicknal and Nettie Rogers, brothers, Wallace DuVall and Everett DuVall.
