Viola M. Schmadeke, age 83 of Yankton, SD passed away on Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton, SD. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services are pending under the direction of the Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton, SD.
Viola M. was born on September 3, 1924 to Arius and Mary (Brt) Markle in Denton, Nebraska. On June 6, 1944, she was united in marriage to Lawrence D. Schmadeke. She was employed as a Deli Manager for the Baker's Supermarket in Omaha, NE from 1977 to 1988.
Those who will cherish her memory are her two sons: Denver and JoAnn Schmadeke of Omaha, NE and David and Charlene Schmadeke of Crofton, NE; her daughter, Joyce and Dean Goedeker of Denver, CO; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
