Glen L. Schaefer, age 52 of Yankton, SD died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton, SD with Rev. Mark Lichter officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitations will be 3-9 PM, Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton, SD with a 7:00 PM rosary followed by a 7:30 PM scripture service. Pallbearers will be Joe Maruska, David Koerner, Ron Maruska, Kenneth Leise, Ray Koerner, and Fred Rybczynski.

Glen Lawrence was born on September 1, 1955 to Victor and Cecelia (Brech) Schaefer in Yankton, SD. He came from a family of four brothers and five sisters being the seventh child. He enjoyed spending time with his family during family reunions and the holidays. He loved playing bingo on Fridays with his mom, sister, and nephew at the Senior Citizens Center. Some of his favorite activities were bowling, going boating, Special Olympics, ERTH class, eating out, attending concerts, plays and movies, camping at Weigand and Lewis and Clark. He really enjoyed his trips to the Black Hills and Minneapolis-where he got to see his favorite team...the Minnesota Twins! When he was relaxing, he would watch TV or videos, play checkers, dominoes and cards with his friends and family.

His memory will always be cherished by his mother, Cecelia (Brech) Schaefer, Yankton, SD; his brothers: Duane (Kathy) of Bemidji, MN, Ken (Pam) of Yankton, SD, Verlin (Donna) of Gering, NE, Rodney of Gillette, WY; his sisters, Karen (Fred) Rybczynski of Broomfield, CO, Judy Schaefer of Yankton, SD, Janice (Kenneth) Leise of Norfolk, NE, Laurie (Ray) Koerner of Yankton, SD, and Gail (Ron) Maruska, Yankton, SD, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.
