Anna Novak, age 98 of Yankton, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton with Msgr. Carlton Hermann. Burial will be in the Nikodym Cemetery, Rural Utica at approximately 11:45 AM. Visitations will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Frank Bohaboj, Joe Bohaboj, Bob Hejna, Lloyd Hejna, Ron Kulish and Jim Kulish.

Anna was born on September 17, 1913 in Stanton County, NE to Adolph and Ann (Verba) Svitak. She attended school at District 32 in Stanton County, NE. On January 20, 1936, she was united in marriage to Frank Novak and to this union, a son was born, Victor. She was a member of ZCBJ. Anna loved people and no one ever left her house without being fed. She was a farmer and gardener from head to toe, and had many chicken, ducks and geese.

Those who will cherish her memory are her son, Victor of Yankton, SD; brother, Victor Svitak of Clarkson, NE; step-sister, Stazie Bohaboj of Clarkson, NE and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, parents, step-sister, Mary Svitak and brother, James Svitak.
