Theodore was born January 13, 1917 on a family farm north of Utica, SD to Henry and Magdalena (Haar) Mueller. He attended country school and began farming at age 17.

Ted married Geneva Kuehn on November 26, 1941 in Yankton, SD. They made their home on the family farm and raised five children. He also did construction work; some of which included the building of the Gavins Point Dam and at various other locations. They actively farmed until he was 80 years old. He leaves a legacy of integrity, hard work, and a love of the land. One of his best investments was the purchase of a go-cart which created lasting memories for the grandkids and great-grandkids.

Survivors include his wife Geneva of Yankton; his five children: Carol (Ron) Schatz of Scotland, SD, Virginia Bertelsen of Moline, IL, Jim of Avon, MA, Jean (Dennis) Stibral, of Yankton, SD and Joyce (Dick) Lane of Yankton, SD; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Lenora Uhrhane, Ruth Clay, and Bettelu Harper, all of Central Point, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Walter, and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Mueller.
