James Eugene (Jim) Malcomson, age 75, of Yankton, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton, SD. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton, with Rev. Paul Opsahl officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will be in the Yankton Cemetery.

Jim Malcomson was born November 6, 1935 in Yankton, South Dakota, the son of James and Edith (Knight) Malcomson. As an adult, he moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota and worked at the Tonka factory. He then moved back to Yankton and worked for Kolberg-Pioneer Inc. until he retired.

Jim enjoyed bowling and playing pool when he was younger. He loved watching John Wayne Movies.

Survivors include his three nephews: Ray and Linda Kashas, Sioux City, IA and families, Lester and Susan Kashas of Camas, WA and families, Dale Kashas of Vermillion, SD and families, and extended family, Raymond and Gail Houfek of Yankton, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Nona Nedved, a sister, Shirley Houfek and a nephew, Charles (Chuck) Kashas.

The Kashas Families wish to give a heartfelt thank you to the Nurses and Staff at the Avera Yankton Care Center for their wonderful and dedicated care they gave to Jim.
