Helen V. Lubbers, age 91, of Yankton, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, SD. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton, with Rev. David Garza officiating. Burial will be in the Yankton Cemetery. Visitations will be 5 to 8 PM, Friday, (today) November 30, 2007 at the Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brad, Bryan, Charles, and Curtis Lubbers, Kenneth Kaiser, and Terry Foxhoven.

Helen was born November 12, 1916 at Mission Hill, SD to William W. and Anna Mary (Thompson) Brown. She grew up in Yankton attended grade school and then three years of Yankton High School. She married Ray M. Lubbers on June 8, 1937 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton, SD. She worked many years at the Stuelpnagels Egg Processing Plant, Yankton. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

Helen is survived by Donna Rae (daughter) Lyle Segelberg of Omaha, NE and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one sister, and a niece. Memorials are directed to the Country Retreat Wing of Avera Sister James Care Center; 2111 West 11th Street; Yankton, SD 57078.
