Mary Lou List, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Avera Sister. James Care Center, Yankton. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Monday, November 28, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Yankton with Rev. Dave Gunderson officiating. Burial will be in Yankton Cemetery. Visitations will be 5:00 PM, Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Opsahl Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitations will resume one hour prior to services at the church. Pallbearers are Don List, Maynard Konechne, Jason Malone, Steve Malone, Gene List and Lester Mueller.
Mary Lou was born on June 12, 1944 in Yankton, SD to August and Lea (Mueller) List. She was baptized at Martinus Lutheran Church, Utica, SD and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Yankton, SD. She graduated from Yankton High School and Yankton College. She taught at Corsica, SD for 1 year, Wynot, NE for 3 years and 31 years in Crofton, NE. She taught calculus, trigonometry, algebra and computer. She retired from teaching in 2001.
Mary Lou was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Yankton, SD.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Lyle Malone in Yankton, SD and sister-in-law, Sharon List of Yankton, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Lea ,her brother, James W. List and sister, Virginia Lee List Malone.
