Bonnie Kautz, age 61 of rural Mission Hill, SD, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, June 26, 2009.

Bonnie was born on May 18, 1948 in Wagner, SD to Charles and Helen Ridgway. She grew up in Yankton, and graduated from Yankton High School in 1966. During her life she held a variety of jobs, including providing home daycare, working at Yankton Bowl, Buhl's Cleaners and most recently enjoyed her customers as manager of Triple Time Rudys. Her hobbies and interests included working with The Make A Wish Foundation, planting flowers in her yard, restoring woodwork, fishing with friends, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchild.

Grateful for having shared her life are her partner and best friend, Ken Johnson; four children and their families: Tommy Kautz and Dody Highland and son, Andrew Taggart of Yankton, SD, Todd Kautz and son Payton of Yankton, SD, Linda Weberg and Gerald Dobrovolny and daughters Melissa (Nick Arneson) and grandson Riley and Sarah of Yankton, SD and Norfolk, NE, Diana and Richard Smallwood and sons Ricco and Logan of Waldorf, MD. Also surviving are two brothers: Bill and Rick Ridgway of Yankton, three sisters: Charlotte O'Brien of LaMar , Indiana, Betty Martin of Denver, CO, and Sheryl Pick of Norfolk, NE as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Helen Ridgway and an infant granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton, with Pastor Jason Larson officiating. Burial will be in the Yankton Cemetery. Visitations will be 5-8 PM, Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton with a 7 PM prayer service. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Dave Staton, Darren Fuhrer, Andrew Taggart, Ricco Smallwood, Bob Pick, Brett Carda. Honorary Pallbearers are Gerald Dobrovolny, Richard Smallwood, Nick Arneson, Melissa Weberg, Sarah Weberg, Logan Smallwood, Payton Kautz and Riley Arneson.
