Carolyn Jane Hunter, age 80, of Yankton, SD died Monday, November 21, 2011 at Avera Yankton Care Center in Yankton. Memorial Services will be 2 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Carolyn was born March 10, 1931 in Creston, NE to Winfield and Fern (Farnsley) Ritter. While residing in Omaha, NE she was an Executive Secretary for 25 years for Bozell & Jacobs Advertising. Carolyn was a woman of many hats.
Carolyn married Duane Hunter on August 27, 1977 at Faith United Presbyterian Church in LaVista, NE. They moved to Yankton in the fall of 2000.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Duane, of Yankton, SD; daughters: Sheryl (Don) Maliha of Leigh, NE, and Dawn (John) DeMarr of Omaha, NE; a son, Dallas (Kathy) Ditter of Ellis, KS; her sister, Mary (Bob) Nagy of Downingtown PA, as well as, 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws; Donna Ritter of Creston, NE; Ruth Ritter of Peoria, AZ; and brother-in-law, Marvin Kratochvil of Madison NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Virginia Kratochvil; and two brothers, Bob and Dick Ritter.
