Lloyd Ludwig Hausman, age 93, of Yankton, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Avera Sunset Manor Care Center, Irene, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton, with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Yankton, SD. Visitations will begin at 5:00 PM, Friday (today), October 14, 2011 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, with a Scripture service at 7:30 PM. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers are Scott Marken, James Hausman, Mike Stock, Ben Hausman, Max Hausman and Darry Davenport
Lloyd was born on May 3, 1918 to John and Rose (Bruder) Hausman. He married Lucille Stoller on November 21, 1939. They moved to Detroit in 1941 and were both machinists for the war effort. They returned to Yankton in 1945 and together purchased the Furguson Oliver Implement Dealership. In 1957 they purchased a farm east of Yankton and began raising mink and did so until they retired in 1998. Lloyd was the father of 4 children and he loved to hunt, fish and bowl.
He is survived by a sister, Katherine Logan of Yankton, SD; 2 sons, Gerald and Ron Hausman of Yankton, SD; daughter, Betty "Lou" (Darrell) Davenport of Las Vegas, NV; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, Lucille; his daughter, Connie Marken; siblings: Lawrence, Vern, Helen, Phyllis, Rita, Donna Mae and Florene.
