Glenn Foster, age 78, of Newcastle, NE, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church, Wynot, NE with Rev. Michael Keating officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wynot, NE. Visitations will begin at 3:00 PM, Friday, December 14, 2007 at Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church, Wynot, with a Vigil service with rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton, SD, is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Dave Otteman, Doug Otteman, Tyler Kruse, Nickolas Foster, Eric Schulte, George Hite, Benjamin Hite, Michael Foster, and Troy Hite. Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer Foster, Ann McArthur, Danielle Anderson, Mandy Hochstein, Katie Rossiter, Cindy Kleinschmit, Teri Petersen, Jill Kruse, Bridget Kruse, Kelli Foster, Shawna Foster, Sarah Schulte, and Maggie Schulte.

W. Glenn was born November 28, 1929 to George and Kate (Wiedenfeld) Foster in rural Hartington, Nebraska. Glenn attended Holy Trinity High School in Hartington. On May 2, 1952, Glenn married Norma Ketter in Wynot, NE. Glenn farmed most of his life and most recently worked for the county driving gravel truck and operating road graders. In 1982, he helped in the building of a ferryboat, the Missouri River Queen, which ferried cattle to Goat Island for over 20 years.

Glenn is survived by his children: Connie Otteman of Fremont, NE, Larry (Marilyn) Foster of South Sioux City, NE, Audrey (Dan) Pinkelman of Gayville, SD, Russell (Vickie) Foster of Phoenix, AZ, Wanda (Duane) Kruse of Rockwell, IA, Laurie (Don) Schulte of Hartington, NE, Claudia (Greg) Hite of Bismark, ND; one sister, Vera Pietz of Hartington, NE; one brother, Don (Mary) Foster of Hartington, NE; 22 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Gary Otteman, and brother-in-law, Al Pietz.
