Dr. Francis J. Dilger, M.D., age 89 of Yankton passed to his Eternal Reward on April 19, 2008 at the Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. David Garza officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitations will be from 3-9 PM, Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton, SD.
Dr. Francis J. Dilger was born on September 14, 1918, the first son of eight children of Dr. Francis Sherman Dilger, D.D.S. and Bozanna (Kolda) Dilger. He graduated at the top of his class from North Western Medical School in Chicago, IL.
Those who are left behind to mourn his absence are three children: Mary Ann (Dilger) Larson of Chicago, IL, Joseph Dilger of Yankton, SD, and Thomas Dilger of Beaverdam, VA; five sisters; Mary Gasteazoro, Delores Rike, Rosemary Stipo, Jan Lewis, and Joan Timony; a brother, Dr. Felix Dilger, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dr. Joseph P. Dilger
