Annabel A. Cox, age 92, of Menno passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 at the Menno-Olivet Care Center, Menno, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Olivet-United Methodist Church, Olivet, SD with Rev. Kathy Kluis officiating. Burial will be in the Menno Cemetery. Visitations will be 5 to 8 PM Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Aisenbrey-Kostel Funeral Home, Menno, SD. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Dale, Heath, and Zachary Thomsen, Tim Flint, Jason Preszler, and Victor Portolese.
Annabel was born February 21, 1916, at Olivet to Henry and Martha (Barth) Steffen. She graduated from Menno High School. She married Marvin Cox July 4, 1935. He died January 12, 1981. They farmed together north of Olivet until they retired and moved to Olivet, SD in 1978. She was a member of the Olivet United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Olivet Friendship Club. Her hobby was the love of making quilts.
She is survived by two daughters; Vernet (Hein) of Menno, SD and Latitia (Wes) Jordan of Mountlake Terrace, WA; four grandchildren; Skye (Dale) Thomsen, Kim (Tim) Flint, Kari (Victor) Portolese, and Jason (Amy) Preszler and eight great grandchildren Heath and Zachary Thomsen, Jamie and Dakota Flint, Jackie Portolese and Mia, Isaac, and Silas Preszler and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, three brothers, and a son-in-law.
