 Laurie (Haar) Broders, age 51, of Yankton and formerly of Freeman, SD, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. A private family memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, October 16, 2009 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Yankton, with Rev. Paul Josten officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, SD. Arrangements are in care of Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton.
Laurie Haar Broders was born on May 22, 1958 in Yankton, SD to Denelda Pieper Taggart and Floyd Taggart. She grew up and graduated from Yankton High School.
She is survived by her four children: Amanda (Charles) Maeyaert of Owatonna, MN, Duayne Haar of Sandy, UT, Sarah Haar of Red Wing, MN, Stacy Haar of Rapid City, SD; two grandchildren, Emma and Gabrielle Maeyaert; her mother, Denelda "Kitty" Taggart of Rapid City, SD; three brothers and one sister, David Taggart of Fremont, MI; Robert Taggart of San Antonio TX; Roxann Basham of Rapid City, SD; and Mark Taggart of Ft. Pierre, SD. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Laurie was loved by many and she will be missed by all her friends and family.
Laurie was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Taggart, and two husbands, Duayne Koerner and Thomas Haar.
