Norbert J. Bollich, age 87 of Menominee, NE passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 9, 2011 St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee, NE with Rev. David Fulton officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitations will be from 4-8 PM, Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton with a 7 PM prayer service. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.

Norbert Joseph Bollich was born on October 26, 1923 to Frank and Mary (Perk) Bollich in rural St. Helena. On February 21, 1946, he joined the United States Army and received his honorable discharge on April 27, 1947. He married Marina Kleinschmit on September 12, 1949 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee. To this union eight children were born: Linda, Daniel, Gary (deceased), LeeRoy, Anthony, Norma, Brian, and Bruce. Norbert started farming which he did most of his life and until he had heat stroke. He worked at Wilson Trailer and continued to farm. He enjoyed riding horse, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with his wife visiting family and friends.

Those who will cherish his memory are his wife, Marina of Menominee, NE; his children: Linda (Paul) Hodgdon of Las Vegas, NV, Daniel (Sharleen) Bollich of Great Falls, MT, LeeRoy (Shirley) Bollich of Great Falls, MT, Anthony (Tina) Bollich of Charlotte, NC, Norma (Chris) DeJong of Alamogordo, NM, Brian (Sue) Bollich of Omaha, NE, and Bruce (Donna) Bollich of Menominee, NE; 24 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Renee Bollich of Yankton; two sisters: Sally Blaschke of Fordyce, NE and Lorraine Schlueter of Becker, MN and many nieces and nephews.

Norbert was preceded in death by his son, Gary, his parents, and siblings: Anthony, Leona, Alvin, Arthur, and Colleen.
